Bhopal, Apr 9 (UNI) More than 6,000 BJP workers, including Madhya Pradesh BJP President Narendra Singh Tomar, today courted arrest during a rally in the state capital to protest the lodging of an FIR against party President Rajnath Singh in connection with the controversial CD episode.

Mr Tomar, while addressing the 'Jan Akrosh Rally' at Roshanpura square here, said the party had strong faith in democracy.

The BJP could not tolerate ''undemocratic actions'' of the Congress-led-UPA at the Centre, the Samajwadi Party and other political parties.

Alleging that a false case had been registered against Mr Singh in Lucknow, he said ''democratic traditions had been demolished''.

Mr Tomar said the Congress and the SP had expressed their apprehensions of defeat in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections by linking the BJP to the CD scandal. State BJP Vice-President Maya Singh alleged a ''political conspiracy'' behind lodging of FIR against Mr Singh.

Later, several BJP MPs, MLAs, officer-bearers and other party workers courted arrest.
