One pilgrim killed, 48 injured in road mishap in Punjab

Ropar, Apr 9 (UNI) A pilgrim was killed and 49 others were injured when the truck carrying them overturned after being hit by another vehicle near Sirsa Nangal village on the Ropar-Kiratpur Sahib highway early this morning, police here said.

The accident occured when they were returning after paying obeisance at the Baba Balak Nath shrine in Himachal Pradesh.

A majority of the injured were admitted to the civil hospital here, while those who were serious were refered to the PGI, Chandigarh.
