Left-wing extremism on decline in AP: CM
Hyderabad, Apr 9 (UNI) Left-wing extremism in Andhra Pradesh was on the decline, following ''pro-poor'' policies implemented by the government, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said today.
Replying to the debate on motion of thanks to the Governor's address in the Assembly here, he said the government was implementing all that the naxalites had been fighting for.
He reiterated the appeal to naxalites to lay down their arms and join the mainstream of the society.
The government had allocated Rs 810 crore for the provision of social welfare pensions, earmarked Rs 813 crore for scholarships to students from Backward Classes and allocated Rs 70 crore for minority welfare, he added.
