Japanese Naval ships arrives at Kochi
Kochi, Apr 9 (UNI) Two ships of the Japanese Navy, 'JDS Makinami' and 'JDS Towada,' commanded by Cdr Futoshi Toyozumi and Cdr Masakazu Yamashita, respectively, today arrived here on a two-day goodwill visit.
On arrival, the ships were received by Commanding Officer of INS Tir Captain K K Pandey along with Command Protocol Officer Captain Ajit Kumar.
Commander Escort Division Captain Kriichi Kuno along with the Commanding officer of the two ships called on Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Naval Command VAdm J S Bedi and Chief of Staff RAdm Rajender Singh.
The ships' crew visited some of the training schools in the city while Indian Navy Officers visited the Japanese ships. The crew also participated in a friendly football match with the Indian Navy.
The ships will leave tomorrow.
