Inter-bank call money rates end low at 6.75 pc

Mumbai, Apr 9 (UNI) Inter-bank rates ended at 6.75-7.00 per cent, lower than last Thursday's closing level of 7.00-7.25 per cent, dealers said.

According to estimates, government spending of around Rs 25,000 crore in the last few sessions boosted liquidity in the banking system, which was reflected in LAF figures.

At the LAF window, the RBI received 21 bids of Rs 9,115 crore at the one-day reverse repo window but according to new regulation the RBI accepted only Rs 3,000 crore while two bids worth Rs 760 crore were accepted at the 1-day repo window.

At the CBLO segment, 452 bids worth Rs 23,935 crore were traded in the range of 3.50-6.07 per cent.

Call rates are likely to face mild upward pressure with GOI bond auctions scheduled for this week, dealers added.
