Eco-friendly car batteries launched

Bangalore, Apr 9 (UNI) Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd, the products and services provider for the automotive industry, along with GS Yuasa International Japan, today announced the launch of 'TATA GREEN' range of eco-friendly car batteries here.

Announcing the launch, Tata AutoComp Managing Director D S Gupta said it had floated a 50 per cent joint venture with the Japanese battery giant, Tata AutoComp GY Batteries, to manufacture 'TATA GREEN' batteries using advanced Calcium-Calcium technology. The batteries would be manufactured at the state-of-the-art facility in Pune. The product had several unique features like longer battery life and shelf life as compared to traditional batteries, ability to withstand extreme temperatures, higher cranking power for instant starts and maintenance and hassle-free performance, he added.

Tata AutoComp GY Batteries CEO Yogesh Dhawan said 'TATA GREEN' not only offered better performance, but was also available at an affordable price. The new range of batteries would be introduced in all the key markets in the country over the next six months in a phased manner. The JV's marketing operations would be backed up by an extensive national level sales, service and distribution network.
