EC is behaving in a partisan manner ; BJP

New Delhi, Apr 9 (UNI) Delhi BJP President Dr Harshvardhan today accused the Election Commission of being partisan.

Addressing demonstrators at Jantar Mantar as part of ''Jan Akrosh Yatra'', he alleged the EC's discriminatory policies had crossed the limits, adversely affecting the democratic process.

The BJP had organised the protest to oppose the registration of an FIR in Lucknow against party President Rajnath Singh.

More than 3500 BJP workers led by Dr Harshvardhan and Prof Vijay Kumar Malhotra were arrested.

Dr Harshvardhan called upon President A P J Abduul Kalam to remove a member of the Commission who, according to him, is acting at behest of Congress.

He hoped the EC will stop discriminating against the BJP. If the EC indulges in favouritism, every citizen of the country and every worker of the BJP will protest, he added.
