Domestic help sentenced to death for killing five persons

Ranchi, Apr 9 (UNI) A special CBI court today awarded death sentence to a person accused of killing five people including the wife of an Indian Forest Service offiIal and his children four years ago.

The accused Ajay Paul, a domestic help killed IFS officer Dhirendra Kumar's wife Amita Sinha and Harshit (son) on June two, 2003 at their house at Gandhi Bihar in Bariatu here. Besides two children of his brother-in-law--Ms Alankrita Jamuar and her brother who had come from New Delhi along with their servant Kittu were also killed.

According to CBI sources, Ajay had quarrelled with Amita and in a fit of rage he mixed posion with their food. As the five victims fell unconscious, he hit them with a rod.

Ajay then set the wooden furniture in the house on fire in which all the victims were burnt alive.

To mislead the investigatiion, Ajay, after commiting the crime, hid in the well situated in the residential premises to build an alibi.

A case was registered at the Bariatu police station on June 2, 2003 and the case was later handed over the to CBI.
