Developmental projects worth Rs 408 lakh sanctioned for Ahd district

Ahmedabad, April 9 (UNI) State Education Minister Anandiben Patel today announced that developmental projects worth Rs 408 lakh had been sanctioned for Ahmedabad district for the year 2007-08.

After the decision was taken at the Ahmedabad District Administrative Committee meeting chaired by her, Ms Patel said under the project, Bhal, Nalkantha and Kharia Tappa areas would be developed.

She told mediapersons that the year 2007 has been declared as Nirmal Gujarat and the government is committed towards the launch of cleanliness drives all across the State.

She suggested that public lavatories and bathrooms would be built in areas resided by harijans in villages in the districts.

Those who participated in the meeting included district panchayat president Ishwarbhai Solanki, MLAs Pragjibhai Patel and Bharatbhai Pandya, Ahmedabad district development officer A J Shah, additional collector D N Modi, R B Barad, district development officers among others.
