Delegation from Singapore calls on CM

Hyderabad, Apr 9 (UNI) A 55-member business delegation from the Republic of Singapore led by Minister for Education Tharman Shanmugaratnam called on the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today.

Welcoming the delegation, the Chief Minister briefed them about the ongoing developmental activities in and around the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

He also briefed them on coastline of the state and the sea port proposed to be developed at Machilipatnam.

Later, the Singapore Minister told newspersons that they were eagerly waiting for the scheduled visit of the Chief Minister to Singapore in the month of May this year.

He said the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was organising an India Conference called 'Salam India' celebrations at Singapore, commemorating the 60th Independence of India on August 15 and invited the Chief Minister to participate in it.

The delegation had visited Satyam and had a session with GATI logistics and interacted with CII members.

After a two-day stay in the city the delegation would be visiting Bangalore and Mysore tomorrow.
