Court rejects bail plea of pharma co's manager

Vadodara, Apr 9 (UNI) A local court today rejected the bail application of a city-based pharmaceutical company manager, who was arrested in a narcotics case in October 2006.

City Sessions Court Judge J S Nariyalwala rejected the bail application of Umesh Prabhudas Patel.

Patel was arrested by Gujarat Narcotics Cell on October 27, 2006, when it raided Thrifty Solution, located in Kareli Baug area of the city, for exporting banned drugs to the United States under the lable of Dysa-Pharma and Ulfa-Zolan medicines.

On the same day, the narco department had also raided another pharma firm, Don Pharmaceuticals in Alkapuri area of the city, which was also exporting banned drugs under the same name to the US.

The narcotics sleuths arrested one Sangeeta Bhatia, whose bail application was rejected earlier by the court and was remanded to judicial custody.
