Copper, brass, nickel rises on fresh demand

Mumbai, Apr 9 (UNI) Copper, brass and nickel rose on fresh industrial demand today, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.

In ferrous section, copper heavy and copper utensils hiked by Rs 300 each per quintal while brass cutting and brass utensils increased by Rs 500 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively on reduced stock supply.

In non-ferrous section, copper wire bars rose by Rs 300 per quintal on improved demand, Nickel cathode went up by Rs 30 per kg on better buying support.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,800, Copper utensils - Rs 32,800, Brass utensils - Rs 25,600, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,925.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 39,000, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,350, Zinc slab Rs 19,000, Lead ingots - Rs 10,600, Tin slab - Rs 790 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,380 (per kg).
