Construction of six flyovers to start this month
New Delhi, Apr 9 (UNI) Delhi Urban Development and PWD Minister Dr A K Walia toay said the construction of six flyovers in the capital would start this month with an estimated cost of Rs 581 crore.
He added that three flyovers would facilitate smooth flow of to and fro traffic between South Delhi and Airports. The flyover at Rao Tula Ram Marg would cost Rs 60.57 crore, the one at Munirka Rs 105 crore and the one near JNU Rs 83 crore.
Two others at Raja Ram Kohli Marg and Shastri Nagar Pushta would also be commissioned by December 2008. These flyovers would cost Rs 96.51 crore and Rs 82.50 crore respectively and go a long way in providing relief to commuters and vehicle owners in trans-Yamuna area.
A three-level flyover at Azadpur would be commissioned by March 2009 with estimated cost of Rs 153.60 crore. The Azadpur flyover would also be integrated with Delhi Metro Line from Vishwavidyalaya to Jahangirpuri and would make Azadpur Intersection signal-free before commencement of Commonwealth Games 2010.
