Dehradun, Apr 9 (UNI) The Uttarakhand BJP today took out a procession here under its ''Jan Akrosh Yatra'' protesting the lodging of an FIR against party president Rajnath Singh in the CD case and forwarded a memorandum to President A P J Abdul Kalam seeking his intervention in the matter.

Scores of BJP workers gathered at the Party City Office and marched to the District Headquarters and handed over the memorandum to the District Magistrate.

Calling it as political vendetta, the BJP sought Dr Kalam's intervention and added the political situation might go out of control if steps are not taken immediately. The BJP has sought immediate withdrawal of the case filed against Mr Singh.

Uttarakhand BJP President Bhagat Singh Koshyari expressed concern over the issue and added action was taken as part of political vendetta.

He said once the release of CD has already been disowned by the BJP, the filing of an FIR was uncalled for.
