Bangalore to host Engineering Design.in from Aug 9

Bangalore, Apr 9 (UNI) On the lines of Bangalore it.in, the showcase event of the IT sector, the city will now host Engineering Design.in 2007 from August nine to 11.

Jointly organised by the Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing of the Indian Institute of Science, ProSIM, Indian Society for Technical Education, the event would cover application of computer-aided technologies, encompassing the entire range of design through manufacture, according to a release here today.

The highlights of the event included technical interactions with global experts, business interaction of global players with their Indian counterparts, technology exhibition of CAD product companies and multi-institutional and cross disciplinary interactions covering academia-industry to discuss the shortfalls in engineering education, corrective measures and skill upgradation of engineers.

Over 1,000 delegates from the USA, Europe and the Asia-Pacific countries, besides those from across the country, would participate in the programme. More than 200 research papers from automobile, aerospace, power plant and general sectors would be presented on the recent developments, the release said.
