ATS files supplementary chargesheet against 13 accused in 7/11 case
Mumbai, Apr 9 (UNI) The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) today filed a supplementary chargesheet against all the 13 accused in the 7/11 bomb blasts on suburban trains in this megapolis, in which 200 people were killed and 700 injured.
Special Public Prosecutor Raja Thackare submitted the supplementary chargesheet to Maharashtra Control for Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) Judge Mridula Bhatkar.
Earlier, the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) had filed a 10,000-page chargesheet before the MCOCA court in which it named a total of 28 accused in the case, of which, 13 are in judicial custody. Eleven of the absconding 15 accused, including Azam Cheema, are Pakistani nationals.
The accused have been booked under various sections of the IPC, MCOCA Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, Explosives Act, Explosive Substances Act, Railway Act, Passport Act and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
Besides, Cheema, Faisal Sheikh and Asif Khan Bashir Khan, alias Junaid, are shown as the prime conspirators among the accused.
The ATS proposes to examine around 2,000 witnesses in the case.
The key accused are in judicial custody. They include Asif Khan alias Junaid, Faisal Shaikh, Ehteshaam Siddiqui, Dr Tanvir Ansari, Mohammed Majeed Ali, Mohammed Sajid, Sohail Shaikh, Jameer Shaikh and Abdul Wahid, among others.
