2 held with counterfeit currency

Shahdol, MP, Apr 9 (UNI) Two people were arrested for being in possession of six counterfeit notes of Rs 100 denomination at Bhalubhada village in this district, police said today.

Bholaprasad was arrested with four counterfeit notes. Based on his confession, Basantdas was arrested with two counterfeit notes.

Bhola was trying to use the fake notes when he was caught.

Police were investigating whether a racket was publishing counterfeit notes in Chhattisgarh and sending them to Annupur district.

Police sources said counterfeit notes, worth Rs 10,000, had been sold for Rs 3,000.
