101 second PUC students debarred for indulging in malpractice

Bangalore, Apr 9 (UNI) The Pre-University Education Board announced that it had debarred 101 students from writing the second year examinations as they had indulged in malpractices while writing Economics paper today.

According to a release from the Board here, Gulbarga district led the list of debarred students with 33, followed by Belgaum district nine, Koppal eight, Bellary six, Bagalkot and Bidar four each, and Chitradurga, Mandya, Tumkur three each.

It may be recalled here that for the first time, the Board had hired private detective agencies to monitor conduct of exams.

Videographing sensitive examination centres and engaging mobile squads were some of the other steps taken to catch those copying.
