Violent protests against load-shedding in Kolhapur district

Kolhapur, Apr 8 (UNI) Irate villagers pelted stones and damaged property of the Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) at Pimpalgaon in Bhudargad taluka of this district here today, angry over the continued load-shedding.

However, no arrests have been made so far although a complaint has been registered against unidentified persons, police said.

The villagers had gathered near the office and resorted to the stone pelting in which window panes of the office were shattered and other property damaged, police said.

Similar violent protests were held late last evening in the powerloom town of Ichalkaranji too, police said.
