Teenaged girl raped by uncle in Punjab

Sangrur, Apr 8 (UNI) A teenage girl was allegedly raped by her parental uncle on the outskirts of the town on April one, police today stated.

According to the police, the incident happened when the victim had gone with her uncle to purchase medicines for her ailing father, a cancer patient.

The girl narrated the incident to one of her relatives after her father expired yesterday. Subsequently, police were informed and a case was registered against the alleged culprit on the statement of the girl.

The alleged accused identified as Dharamveer Singh absconded after he came to known that the police had registered a case against him.
