Special plane carrying Pranab Mukherjee leaves for Delhi
Kolkata, Apr 8 (UNI) A special plane carrying External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who sustained serious head injuries in a road accident last night, left for New Delhi this morning.
Official sources said the condition of Mr Mukherjee, who was critically injured in a road accident in Nadia district last night, was stable.
A CT scan test was performed on him. Though 14 stiches were given on his head, he was reported to be out of danger.
Pradesh Congress working president Pradip Bhattacharjee told UNI, quoting doctors attending on Mr Mukherjee and senior Congress leader Manas Bhuniya, that the condition of both the leaders was stable.
''Both of them are very much conscious and their condition is stable,'' Mr Bhattacharjee said.
Sources said Mr Mukherjee would be taken to an Army hospital in Delhi for further treatment.
