Shops gutted in fire

Agartala, Apr 8 (UNI) At least thirtyfive shops were completely gutted in a devastating fire that broke out at Mandai Bazar, about 15 kms from here, under West Tripura district last night.

According to police, the reason of the fire was suspected to be short circuit. The loss of property was yet to be ascertained.

Most of the shop owners were away at the time of the incident and local people extended help to bring the fire under control before fire tenders reached the spot, police added.
