Rs 18 crore to provide Medicines to Veterinary hospitals

Gulbarga Apr 8 (UNI) The State government has released Rs 18 crore to purchase medicenes, to all Veterinary hospitals, Animal Husbandary Minister Mr Revunaik Belamagi informed here today.

Speaking to newsmen Mr Belamagi said that measures have been taken to fill the medical officers post in all the Veterinary hospitals in the State and already 383 posts have been filled. There are about 5200 posts of Veterinary doctors and Veterinary Assistant posts have remained vacant and efforts would be taken to fill all the posts. The State government also decided to provide Rs 5000 per month as stipendary to those doctors wish to work at the hospitals, he said.

The minister has said that under the Janasri Insurance Scheme over 22 thousand sheep had been insured as against the target of eight lakh sheep. The State government has also decided to set up a dairy science college at Mahagaon in Gulbarga district and a decision to this will be announced shortly.
