Radio Kashmir, Srinagar wins M L Manchanda Award-2006
Jammu, Apr 8 (UNI) Radio Kashmir, Srinagar was conferred with the M L Manchanda Award for technical excellence at Akashvani Annual Awards-2006 ceremony here this evening.
The Award, which is constituted for the best maintained station of All India Radio (AIR), was given to Radio Kashmir, Srinagar, in the 'best maintained difficult station' category.
Air's Osmanabad station stood runner-up in the category.
The 'Best Maintained Major Station' Award -- on all india basis -- was won by the AIR, SP, Bangalore.
Meanwhile, the 'Best Maintained Station' Awards on zonal basis, were given to AIR, Allahabad in North Zone AIR, Bhadravati in South Zone AIR, Aurangabad in West Zone AIR, Rourkela in East Zone and AIR, Tejpur in North-East Zone.
Akashvani Annual Awards were instituted in 1974 to promote professional excellence and to bring out the best from the staff working at various radio stations and installations.
