Prohibitory orders clamped in MP township

Rajgarh, MP, Apr 8 (UNI) Prohibitory orders under section 144 had been clamped after one person killed in a clash between two communities last night in this district's Talen township, police said today.

Members of the two communities came in front of each other at 2130 hrs last night. One person killed and eight were injured in this incident. Two seriously injured were sent to Bhopal for treatment.

Police lobbed tear gasshells and fired gunshots in air to disperse the crowd. Additional police force were deployed and the situation was under control. Fifty people had been arrested in this connection so far.

Meanwhile, curfew has been lifted from this district's Narsinghgarh tahsil headquarters, where it was imposed on April 2 following tension in the wake of stone-pelting and subsequent arson targeting shops and vehicles. Three people were killed in the communal disturbances.
