Rajahmundry, Apr 8 (UNI) Aiamuru MLA Bikkini Krishnarjuna Chaudhary said "indiscipline" in the Congress which resulted in cross-voting in the District Planning Committee (DPC) elections yesterday, prompted him to tender his resignation.

He had sent his resignation letter to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, Assembly Speaker K Suresh Reddy and APCC president K Keshav Rao.

Mr Chaudhary told UNI "the question of accepting the resignation is the Chief Minister's prerogative." He was agitated over the cross-voting which resulted in the defeat of his nephew Reddy Radhakrishnan in the DPC elections.

Roads and Building Minister Jakkampudi Rammohan Rao, who visited him last night on behalf of the Chief Minister, had urged him to withdraw the resignation, he claimed.
