Govindacharya in ICU at Apollo Hospital

New Delhi, Apr 8 (UNI) Former BJP ideologue Govindacharya has been admitted to a city hospital here in serious condition with a clot in his brain.

BJP leader L K Advani and Bharatiya Janshakti Party chief Uma Bharti today visited Govindacharya at the hospital.

Govindacharya was brought to the Apollo Hospital here last night, from Hisar in Haryana where his condition worsened during treatment for head injuries following a fall, family sources told UNI.

He is in the Intensive Care Unit and is being monitored on an hourly basis, the sources said.

''Doctors here said there was a clot in his brain and they wanted to observe him for 48 hours before once again performing a CT Scan on him and then deciding when to operate on him.'' Advaniji visited him this afternoon at about 1215 hrs. Uma Bharti also came to enquire about his health. Even Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh asked about him on the phone, the sources said.

''After he fell on the night of April 6 and vomited thrice he was rushed to a hospital in Hisar. He was shifted here yesterday after his condition worsened.'' Govindacharya had gone to Hisar to attend the 'chintan baithak' of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM), the sources added.
