Formation of third front will trigger UPA's fall: BJP

Varanasi, Apr 8 (UNI) Welcoming the idea of forming a third front in the national politics, the BJP today said such a front will help party's cause by actuating the fall of the ruling United Progressive Alliance government at the Centre.

''We are all for a third front for which former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP chief N Chandra Babu Naidu and Samajwadi Party leaders are clamouring. If at all the third front is cobbled together ,it will suit the BJP's interest by actuating the fall of the ruling UPA in New Delhi,'' former BJP president Venkaiah Naidu told newspersons here today.

Mr Naidu, however, said even thinking of forming a third front in the present political situation was like day-dreaming. It is just a pipe-dream which will never actualise.

He added people who talk about a third front must first come to terms with the reality that a front made from conflicting interests will never last long, if at all formed.

''Besides, any front having or supported by the left parties is bound to collapse as these parties are champions of double standards. At any crucial meeting aimed at national development these parties carry the green flag (mark of approval) inside, but after coming out of the same meeting they start fluttering the red flag to stall development,'' Mr Naidu mocked.

In future, only two political forces -- BJP and Congress -- will be left in the national politics. Any formation of third front is bound to meet the same fate that the earlier National Front and United Front went through.

''Already the wind of political change was palpable in Punjab, Uttarakhand and now Delhi. Post UP election the countdown of UPA government's ouster will begin.'' Mr Naidu further said keeping this in mind ''we are appealing the electorate of UP to vote for a single party majority government of BJP.
