Easter celebrated Meghalaya
Shillong, Apr 8(UNI) Christians across Meghalaya today celebrated Easter Sunday to mark the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ from the grave three days after he was crucified.
Several Christian organisations here organised special sermons in their respective Churches to mark the occasion.
Last night, Archbishop of Shillong Archdiocese Rev. Dominic Jala, presided the Eastern vigil mass at the Mary Help of Christian Cathedral.
Pascal commemoration in many perishes was marked with candle light processions and baptism of new born children.
Leaders of various political parties have greeted the Christians on the occasion of Easter.
Meanwhile, young and old were seen exchanging Easter eggs and buns.
