DCM rules out total prohibition in Karnataka

Davanagere, Apr 8 (UNI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today categorically ruled out imposing total prohibition in the State.

Talking to newsmen here, he said that 250 vehicles and additional force would be provided to Excise Department to supervise effective implementation of ban on sale of arrack in the State. The Special Squad of Excise Department and Police would initiate stringent action against those who indulge in the sale of illicit liquor.

Mr Yediyurappa said that the State government would soon approach the Union government for release of funds for taking up supply of drinking water in the rural areas.

Replying to a question, Mr Yediyurappa denied of having any difference of opinion with Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on any issue.
