Basu expresses concern over Pranab's health condition

Kolkata, Apr 08 (UNI) Veteran Marxist leader Jyoti Basu today expressed concern over the accident of External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee in Nadia district yesterday and wished him speedy recovery.

Mr Basu expressed his concern to CPI(M) Polit Bureau member and State Secretary Biman Bose, who met the former during the day.

Mr Mukherjee was critically injured when a stone-laden lorry collided head on with his car at Birhattala area under Bethuadahari Police Station of Nadia district last night.

Mr Mukherjee was returning from Baharampore after inaugurating a book fair when the accident occurred.

Mr Bose today visited Congress Legislature party leader Manas Bhunia, who was also seriously injured while accompanying Mr Mukherjee in the same car, at the SSKM hospital.
