AMU student shot dead

Aligarh, Apr 8 (UNI) An Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) student was shot dead by some unidentified assailants here last night, police said today.

The incident happened at Civil Lines area opposite Habib hostel, when the deceased, Sakib, student of B Com III year, was out with his friends to have some refreshments.

Meanwhile, five motorcycle-borne students came and opened fire on him, police said.

Police have arrested some suspected students of the hostel.

According to sources, the accused were out to kill somebody else, when Sakib became their target.
