5 killed in building collapse

Chennai, Apr 8 (UNI) Five people were killed when a ten-storeyed building under construction collapsed at Akkarai village in suburban Thoraipakkam on the IT Corridor here this evening.

Police sources said while four people -- three Biharis and one from Andhra Pradesh -- died on the spot, another person died on way to a private hospital.

The huge building was being constructed by E-gate, a software firm at the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR).
