Yohei Sasakawa,Japan selected for 2006 International GMFL Award

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) The Gandhi Memorial Leprosy Foundation (GMLF) has named WHO goodwill ambassador for leprosy elimination and Chairman Nippon Foundation Yohei Sasakawa of Japan as the winner for the 10th International Gandhi Award for the year 2006.

According to a GMLF release issued here today, President A P J Abdul Kalam will give away the prize to Mr Sasakawa on April 12 at a function to be held at Wardha in Maharashtra on April 12.

The award consists of a medallion, a citation and a cash prize of Rs two lakh.
