Warrant of arrest against IAS officer

Patna, Apr 7(UNI) Chief Judicial Magistrate of Patna Sushma Sinha today issued non-bailable warrant of arrest against nine persons, including one IAS officer in a case of cheating, forgery and misappropriation of public fund.

On the prayer of police, the court had issued warrants against former secretary of Bihar State Housing Corporation Federation Limited, an IAS Officer C K BASU, and eight other officials who were posted there, when the offences were committed.

The officers against whom warrants were issued include Arun Kumar Jha, Manoj Kant Thakur, Lok Nath Tiwary, Kali Kant Jha, Ganga Dhar Mishra, Phoolan Kumar Singh, Amarjit Singh and Ganga Dhar Jha.

According to the charges, loans above Rs 2.5 crores were disbursed to a housing cooperative society in connivance with the officials of federation by committing cheating and forgery during 1991 to 1993.

Two FIRs were registered in this regard in Gardanibagh police station of the state capital in 2002 and 2003.
