ULFA militant surrenders with arms
Guwahati, Apr 7 (UNI) An ULFA cadre surrendered in Tinsukia district of Upper Asom today.
Army sources said the cadre, identified as Pradeep Bora alias Rabindra Saikia, surrendered before the Tinsukia deputy commissioner with an automatic pistol and three rounds of ammunition.
The cadre had joined the ULFA in 1996 and underwent training in Nagaland. He was apprehended by Assam Police in 1998 and jailed for four months. Later, he again joined the outfit and has been operating under the 'B Coy' of the '28th battalion' of the ULFA in Jorhat and Karbi Anglong districts of the state, the Army sources said.
