Two policemen dead, four injured in road accident

Malda, Apr 7 (UNI) Two policemen died and four others were critically injured in an accident when the jeep in which they were travelling collided with a truck in Sustani area under English Bazar police station here today.

Superintendent of Police Dilip Kumar Mondol said the two National Voluntary Force(NVF) constables, on Highway patrol duty, died in the accident which occurred after the truck lost control.

The seriously injured had been rushed to Malda sub-divisional hospital.

Police have seized the truck from the spot but the driver managed to escape.

The bodies had been taken to police ground to offer last respect, police added.
