Two accused in SSA scam remanded to judicial custody

Hyderabad, Apr 7 (UNI) A city court remanded Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) scam accused Sarasa Devi and V Subramanyam in 14-day judicial custody and they were lodged in Chanchalguda jail here today.

Police sources said crime branch police were investigating the the case with the help of bank officials where the two accused opened accounts and swindled SSA funds accounting for more than Rs 10 crore.

The special police were also conducting searches at the houses of the accused to unearth the assets possessed in 'benami' names.
