Sr Cong leader criticises TDP

Vijayawada, Apr 7 (UNI) Senior Congress Leader Paladagu Venkata Rao today condemned the Opposition TDP for allegedly wasting the precious time of Assembly and Council.

Addressing a press conference here, he said in democracy, assembly and parliament were the will of the people and if discussions were not held on important issues concerning the people they could be in danger.

He said there were no regional parties during Jawaharlal Nehru's period but due to birth of regional parties now,democratic values were taking a back seat.

Mr Rao said by creating a commotion in the House, the leaders of TDP wanted to show their supremacy rather than addressing people's problems.

He flayed the TDP for not showing interest on the question hour and for raising slogans taking some issues on the pretext of putting the government in a dock.

He said the TDP was of the view that they can do anything in both the Houses and added if this situation continued, the country would see unruliness.
