Sonia, Rahul to launch another 'voter interaction programme' in UP
Lucknow, Apr 7 (UNI) AICC president and Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi would launch another phase of their interaction programme with voters from tomorrow to campaign for party candidates in phase II of assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
Phase-II polling in the state would be held on April 13 in 58 assembly seats of western UP.
The AICC president and her MP son would more or less tour the same areas between April 8 and 11 in western UP. While Ms Gandhi would hold public meetings, Rahul would go for 'jan sampark' through his roadshows and also address smaller meetings perched atop his SUV.
Ms Gandhi would begin her series of meetings on April 10. On the first day, she would address three meetings in Bulandshahr, Meerut (Cantt) and Bijnore. On April 11, she would address another three meetings in Ghaziabad, Rampur and Mathura in favour of Congress candidates.
According to party leaders, Rahul would begin his road show tomorrow from Muzzafarnagar and end it on April 10 with a public meeting at Sadabad assembly seat.
Interestingly, Rahul would also address a public meeting in favour of M S Tikait-led Bharatiya Kisan Union candidate in Sisauli assembly segment on the first day of his tour.
While this would be the third round of Rahul's campaigning in the state, Ms Gandhi would be in UP for the third time too to campaign for Congress candidates.
