Rajasthan: Pakistani prisoner dies in jail

Jaipur, Apr 7: A Pakistani prisoner lodged in Jodhpur central jail died on Thursday under suspecious circumstances, sources said.

According to jail authorities, Mohammad Islam, a resident of Ghotaki district in Sindh province in Pakistan was admitted at the jail dispensary following complaints of chest pain but he breathed his last in the evening.

Police have registered a case of suspicious death under Udaimandir police station while the district administration also orderd an investigation by City Magistrate BR Balu.

Meanwhile, a medical board conducted the post mortem of Islam but did not disclose the reason for the death.

Islam had been lodged in the Jodhpur central jail for about one year after the security forces nabbed him in Jaisalmer district near the international border with Pakistan when he allegedly crossed over to India without valid documents.
