Kathmandu, Apr 7 (UNI) Civil society leaders have cautioned the government and people that Nepal still faces threat from pro-king forces who might seize people's rights any time if monarchy is still allowed to be alive in the country, media reports said.

''The government must be cautious about the threat posed by the King, as monarchy is yet to be uprooted,'' Kantipur quoted senior human rights leader Krishna Pahadi as saying.

''Though a year has passed since democracy was established in the country, royalist forces might still group up to disrupt Constituent Assembly (CA) polls,'' he said.

Bishnu Nisthuri, president of Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ), said, ''The country cannot remain assured of peace until CA polls are held successfully.

Till that time, everybody should be cautious from the King, who might create trouble.'' Literary figures and singers recited poems and sang songs in favour of complete democracy and end of monarchy in the Himalayan nation on the occasion, which was organised to mark the first anniversary of the anti-king democratic uprising in April last year.
