Orissa to dvlp Satkoshia, Bhitarkanika sanctuaries
Bhubaneswar, Apr 7: To promote tourism, Orissa government has decided to develop Satkoshia and Bhitarkanika wildlife sanctuaries with an investment of Rs 12 crore.
Official sources said tourist spots like Chandbali, Khola, Rajnagar, Dangmal and Gupti inside the Bhitarkanika sanctuary would now have ferry ghat, information centres, rest houses, watch towers and bamboo cottages besides lighting arrangement.
Similarly, facilities for tourist comfort would be provided in Tikarpada, Labangi, Baliputa and Chhamundia, inside the Satkoshia wildlife sanctuary.
These tourist destinations would also have jetty and lighting facilities apart from elephant stay.
The Orissa Tourism Development Corporation and Forest department would jointly take up the developmental projects in these two sanctuaries.
Tourists here will be able to enjoy the scenic beauty of the stretch from Ekakulanasi to the Hubuli Ghat on the coast inside the Bhitarkanika wildlife sanctuary and also grab a piece of god's creation at another sight seeing trip from the Chinchuni confluence to Barunei.
Official sources said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had sanctioned Rs five crore to develop Simlipal National Park for tourists to get a glimpse of the unique eco-system of the state.
