New VC for Rajiv Gandhi University

Itanagar, Apr 7 (UNI) The department of Higher Education, under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, has appointed Mysore University Professor K C Belliappa to be the first Vice Chancellor(VC) of Rajiv Gandhi University(RGU) here.

Prof Belliappa, a professor of English in Mysore University has been appointed for a term of five years with effect from April 9, sources said here today.

Prof Beliappa would take over the charge from incumbent VC Prof Subhas Chandra Saha.

The university was recently converted into a central varsity.
