Need for exchange programmes between different countries stressed

Chandigarh, Apr 7 (UNI) Haryana Governor A R Kidwai has stressed the need for exchange programmes between educational institutions of different countries as they can play a significant role in strengthening the bilateral relationship among the related countries.

Dr Kidwai was interacting with the group of students of Ousedale School, the Grove New Port Pagnell MK 16 OBJ, United Kingdom, who are on the tour of Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai in Sonipat district in connection with the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Indo-UK Exchange Programme, in New Delhi last evening.

He said that the main aim of the Programme was to learn about the system of education, type of society, centre of commercial and historical significance of each other country.

He said that educational exchange programmes provide opportunities to the students in acquainting with the culture, civilization and life-style of each others country.

The Principal and Director of Motilal School of Sports Rai, Capt V K Verma, said that under the Indo-UK exchange programme, a group of 15 students and two teachers were visiting Motilal School of Sports Rai, this year from March 23 to April 12, 2007.

He said that the British students are showing keen interest in the Indian culture and life-style particularly in traditional clothes and food.

He said that a group of 15 students and two staff members of Motilal School of sports Rai will also be visiting U K tentatively in the month of May and June, 2007.

The main aim of the Programme is to learn about the life style, system of education, type of society, centre of commercial and historical significance of each other country.
