MCD polls: BJP wins 13 seats, leading in 131 others
New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) The BJP today surged ahead in the race for power in the new Municipal Corporation of Delhi, bagging 13 seats and registering leads in 131 wards as results for the just-concluded polls started pouring in.
After two hours of counting, the Congress had won six seats and was ahead in 36 other places as per trends available for 194 seats, according to official sources.
While an Independent has won one seat, two seats have gone to others.
The Bharatiya Janshakti Party of former Delhi Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana was also leading in two seats.
Polling for a total 272 seats in the MCD was held on April 5 and 6.
