Kolkata may experience rain in next 48 hours
Kolkata, Apr 7 (UNI) Kolkatans may get a respite from the scorching heat and high humidity as the Met officials have predicted possibility of rain in the next 48 hours.
''We are monitoring the weather conditions and there might be some changes which can be confirmed by tomorrow,'' Met Director G C Debnath told UNI today.
However, he said the temperature in the city was not 'so worse' compared to other metropolises where the mercury level had already soared to more than 40 degree Celsius.
''We are lucky that the temperature is normal so far. The only matter of discomfort is the high humidity. Otherwise the temperature is normal and the night hours are pleasant,'' Mr Debnath added.
According to Met officials, the temperature recorded today was 36 degree Celsius and the minimum stood at 27.5 degree Celsius.
The relative humidity was 90 per cent.
