HC order on minority status is Mulayam's ploy: Mayawati

Jyotibaphule Nagar (Amroha), Apr 7 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today alleged the Allahabad High Court order on the minority status of Muslims was a ploy by the Mulayam Singh Yadav government in the state.

''After gaining power, I will definitely fight for the rights of Muslims and expose the corrupt ways of Mr Yadav. Everybody knows that BSP is not malicious towards anyone,'' Ms Mayawati said addressing an election meeting here.

''I am totally against reservation on caste basis. Reservation should be provided on aneconomic basis in the country,'' the BSP supremo added.

She further claimed the opposition parties were worried at the rising popularity of BSP.

Ms Mayawati exhorted the people to observe fast on voting day and break it only after casting their vote.
