Govt to open alcohol de-addiction centres
Guntur, Apr 7 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Finance and Health Minister K Rosaiah today said the state government would open alcohol de-addiction centers, to start with in all government teaching hospitals in the state to check alcoholism.
Speaking after inaugurating an alcohol de-addiction and counselling centre by 'Janachaitanya Vedika' here he expressed concern at addiction to drink in the state.
The evil was destroying families, harmony and peace and causing their economic ruin, he observed and said the government will spend a part of the huge Rs 4,800 crore excise revenue for weaning youth away from the drink.
