Sultanpur, Apr 7 (UNI) At least six people were wounded in a brick-batting between two groups of prisoners in the district jail here today.

The incident occurred, when two judicial magistrates were granting remand on the jail premises this evening.

The district judge had deputed additional district judge Sudhir Kumar and judicial magistrate K P Pal to the jail in the absence of adequate police security to escort the undertrials to court.

When the two judges were conducting the proceedings, two groups of prisoners entered a scuffle, which soon snowballed into a free-for-all entailing brick-batting.

Six people, including three jail guards Netraj, Shailendra and Rajendra were wounded. Later, senior police and administrative officials rushed to the spot.
